Game Engine Architecture

A very good book that covers both the theory and practice of game engine software development. This hardbound book is easy to read and covers just about everything you might see in a game engine. This book doesn't weigh you down with miles and miles of source code but it will tie the major pieces of a game engine together to make sense. If you want a "how to" book that shows you how to code a particle system then don't get this book. This book is not meant to be the only resource you'll need to make a detailed game engine. That would simply be impossible because no book can do that.
